I tried everywhere, looking for help. Neither my pastor nor the police could help, and the court process exacerbated the abuse. Journey was the only place that understood what I was going through.
It helped give me my life back. My support group peers validated my experience and assured me - contrary to what my abusive spouse had long told me--that I wasn’t crazy. Our group leader nurtured us with truth, support and kindness until we could stand on our own.
