Sandy's Story
I’m an only child, and when both my parents passed away within a year of each other, I felt so all alone. Out of loneliness, I started dating a guy and then moved in with him a couple months later. He began beating me so badly that I thought I might die.
Without any family left, I didn’t know where to turn for help.
A friend referred me to Journey Center, and I learned about Shelter. I called and got connected and I took advantage of the services offered at Journey Center. Now I have a job and a Justice System Advocate who is helping make sure that he can never hurt me again.
